Imperial Ballroom Dance Center hosts some of the valley’s most popular social, children’s, and advanced group classes!

Beginner & Social Dance Group Class:

Hosted: Fridays @ 7:00pm-7:45pm
What will I learn?  Our Friday night group class is designed for dancers of all levels and ages!  Learn exciting steps in the most popular social dances.  You’ll be ready to cut-a-rug with any partner in any social setting!  During this class students are taught a variety of dances and dance with multiple partners.

What do I wear?  Dress comfortably.  There is no dress code.  Ballroom Dance shoes are not a requirement, however we do recommend the following:
Men: Dress shoes with a smooth or leather sole work the best.
Women: Heels are not a requirement, but are welcome.  Just be sure to wear something that is secure to your feet, as you will spend a majority of the time stepping backwards.  Flip-flops and platforms are NOT recommended.
Do I have to dance with different partners?  You do not HAVE to dance with different partners, however it is strongly encouraged.  No two dancers move or feel the exact same way, therefore having the experience of rotating partners will help you to better understand your own steps, and how to recover from a mis-step.  Plus it makes the night more fun, meet and greet with others just like you!

Advanced International Group Classes:

Hosted: Tuesdays: Standard @ 7:00pm-7:45pm.  Latin @ 8:00pm-8:45pm
What will I learn?  Our Tuesday night classes are recommended to those with previous experience in ballroom dancing, and have been taking private lessons for at least 6 months.  These classes are designed to take your dancing to the NEXT LEVEL.  In both the International Standard & International Latin classes, instructors focus on making you the best dancer you can be by giving you a beautiful solid foundation.  These classes are a great challenge!  Get ready to work and sweat!  If you are looking to add more to your dancing, you can’t afford to miss these classes.  Professionals show and focus on proper footwork, floorcraft, styling, body movement, floor alignment, advanced steps, and more!

Children’s Group Classes:

Beginner: Mondays @ 4:00pm-4:45pm & Wednesdays @ 4:45pm-5:30pm
Intermediate: Mondays @ 4:45pm-5:30pm & Wednesdays @ 4:00pm-4:45pm
Advanced: Mondays @ 5:30pm-6:15pm
What will they learn?  Imperial Ballroom is very proud to host the valley’s largest children’s ballroom dance program!  Young ladies and gentlemen will be taught a variety of dances including: ChaCha, Samba, Rumba, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Paso Doble, Jive/Swing, Quickstep, and more!  Not only is dancing a fun, healthy, and social hobby for growing children, but also teaches valuable life skills.  In addition to learning how to dance, children are taught about sportsmanship, grace, poise, manners, social etiquette, discipline, respect for others and themselves, practice, hard work, and more.
Children in our Teddy Bear program have opportunities to showcase their progress and skills at various competitions and our yearly Grand Masquerade Gala!  At Imperial Ballroom, we believe that dancing is a wonderful way to express yourself and build confidence in a healthy respectful way.

How old does my child need to be?  Typically our children’s group class is reserved for children between the ages of 6-12.  We do allow younger and older children to participate on an individual basis and evaluation.
What do they need to wear?  Imperial Ballroom Dance Center does have a dress code for the children’s classes.
Boys: Black pants.  Solid color button down shirt or T-shirt.  Black Ballroom Dance Shoes.
Girls: Black Skirt at an age appropriate length.  Solid color leotard, T-shirt, or tank top.  White socks.  Latin Ballroom Dance Shoes.
